Once her daughter started walking, she didn’t feel comfortable taking her to the places they used to hang out (coffee shops, etc), and none of the “kid friendly” spaces seemed clean or inviting.
This ignited her passion to create something new in the form of a space that both supported early learning AND provided the connection and caffeine so many parents and caregivers crave. The Children’s Piazza in Beverly opened in February of 2014, and it became clear that the North Shore of Boston needed more places like this!
In February of 2018, our second location opened in West Peabody with a lot more square footage and a lot more to manage. That’s when Charae met licensed contractor and true Renaissance woman, Becky Bishop Abbott (pictured on the right). Becky has an undergraduate degree in Business and a Master’s degree in English. She has taught music lessons to children (playing guitar, drums and piano), has designed logos for non-profits, and makes beautiful hand crafted pieces in her basement workshop (from wooden coasters to farmhouse tables). She and her wonderful husband, Chris, are “all in” in their commitment to their community in Lynn. They also coach little league softball together. Becky’s talents, along with her love for community building, makes her a dream come true as a business partner.
When you visit, we hope you’ll sense how much hospitality means to us, because you matter, even with that baby food stuck to your shirt, we are always glad you came, and we recognize your job as the highest in the land.
If you need anything to make your job easier during a visit, please let us know! It’s our pleasure to serve you.
